On Writing

I've almost finished going over a wip. It's a Rural Romance and as always the dreaded doubt stabber pops into my mind, and then I have to read it over once again. Most authors or aspiring authors have these feelings at one stage or another in their writing life. Even the top authors have moments when they think, 'Is it good enough?'

It's strange. I read and think wow it's not too bad, then I continue and say geez it's a mess. But really I've had some nice reviews of my work, some not so nice, but they are either backstabber's, or other authors that don't like seeing one of their peers getting ahead, especially the one and two star reviews where the reviewer has only reviewed that one novel. Get my drift? Not nice, but hey that's okay, I rarely take notice of them and it will never stop me writing.

I want to stress that with each novel I always have it edited by a professional editor, and there will be always discrepancies in the difference between Aussie English and American English, our slang, our terms. I think we all know that a ute is a pick up. I can't remember any more off hand, but there are a few.

Anyhow have a great weekend. I'm off to Lake Macquarie again in the morning. Last week was our writers meeting. I think I'm wearing a track down the Pacific Highway lately. lol..

This picture below is where I spent Thursday and a few days earlier writing. The view was hard to take. lol.. Enjoy your weekend. I'll be enjoying mine. :)

The book titled Heat in the Outback is out of contract and should not be for sale either in print or e-book anywhere on the web, except for a few print copies and when sold should not be re-ordered again.

Thank you.

Back Home

Just an update to let you know I'm back after tripping to the High Country of Victoria, and then returning to move house. We are exhausted but now settled in, with so much to do over the following weeks. I'm eager to get back into my writing and almost done on a wip for a publisher.

On the other front I'm re-publishing a novel Mid June-July. I'm looking forward to that one as it's a Contemporary Rural Romance. One of the first Rural Romances published before the boom of Rural Romance in Oz.

Here's a snap of one of my stops while tripping to the High Country. We stopped for dinner late at night at a beautiful little place in Yea. It was really warm and pleasant. Look what I had on the menu. Quite suitable for the climate, and very tasty. :)

Reviews

After taking  the last few weeks off, I have many emails sitting in my inbox to wade through. I'll get to yours soon. :) Although I said I'd be back today, I will be writing on and off, and popping in from time to time as there is still so much to do. I'm almost settled in our new house. It's a great place to write. :)

There was one email that caught my attention to this review of Outback Fever (below) while I was away. While reading it overwhelmed me and brought tears to my eyes. As I've said before, when a review arrives like this it makes writing so worthwhile.

5.0 out of 5 stars Suspense - feuds! 24 May 2015  Amazon US

One of the best outback romance books I have ever read. The feuding and suspense make it a "can't put down" book. Most books you can get a fair idea before the end of how they will end, but not this one! I thoroughly enjoyed it and recommend it.

There is also this one:
5.0 out of 5 stars fast paced romantic suspense May 14, 2015
By Ronnie293
Format:Kindle Edition

Outback Fever is a fast paced Romantic Suspense with real suspense and plenty of action and danger.
Cassie is a strong female protagonist. She is not afraid to fight for what is hers and does not back down to threats. There is an underlying romance theme but the angst is not overdone and although written from Cassie’s POV the reader gets a couple of glimpses of Jake’s thoughts.
A story full of mystery and a few twists all wrapped up in a beautiful outback setting with characters you will find hard to let go of.
If you like to read stories with real suspense, this is for you.
If you like to read stories with a strong female lead, this is for you.
If you like to read stories with a beautiful, outback Australian setting, this is for you.
It’s the complete package!
Once again my deepest thank you to all valuable readers.
