The flu is done and dusted. Almost two weeks. Phew, and not a lot of writing done.

I'm making up for it this week and my next novel is coming along well.

I'm loving the twists and the developing romance between the hero and heroine. 

Set in the fictitious town of Dry Springs and surrounding properties, the images below depict the sunburnt terrain. A place where graziers struggle to deal with the harsh elements of the Australian Outback.

It's fitting to say that I wrote a series about the brothers as I have four big brothers whom I love dearly. All are very nice men. :) (no I don't use them, but I guess I may take snippets of their personalities.)

A bootlegging organisation has set up near Red Rock and the police swarm the area, in response. Amelia is in two minds. She doesn’t think Tony is responsible, as he’s a wealthy vineyard magnate.

Alex invites Amelia to meet his family. She is growing fond of him, but if Tony gets wind of the relationship, Alex’s life may be in danger. Unable to resist his charms, Amelia allows their relationship to develop.

After undertaking a few jobs for Tony, Amelia has had enough. Renewed threats against Alex, forces her to agree to one more job. But one more is not enough.

How can she explain her dilemma to Alex? Will he realise the woman he is dating is the strongest of any woman he has met?

ANZAC Day – 25 April – is the anniversary of the landing of our troops from Australia and New Zealand on the Gallipoli Peninsula, Turkey, in World War I.

On April 25, 1915, Australian troops landed on the Gallipoli Peninsula, a site they were advised 'a friendly beach.'

For the men and women who displayed great courage, discipline and self-sacrifice in serving our country. 

AT THE GOING DOWN OF THE SUN AND IN THE MORNING WE SHALL REMEMBER THEM.

I loved writing this novel, well, as I do all others. lol. Each one is special to me. They represent a time in my life where I'm either sailing along well or struggling. Like most of us, we all have our ups and downs.

I find escapism when I write. I find it stimulates my mind and when I write, events transpire in their own bubble.

‘Well, hello Christmas.’ Emily Walker slowed her pace and adjusted the package on her hip. Her gaze rested on three men climbing from a black Ford Raptor.

She eyed the strangers as they met up on the footpath. They looked similar, and she gathered they were brothers. Very attractive brothers.

Keeping her steps steady, she reached the door to her book store and slipped inside. It took a few moments to catch her breath, before she peeked through the front window.

She studied the older man and heat built in her cheeks. How could she not? He stood at least six foot two and had wavy jet-black hair, which curled at the collar of his crisp blue shirt, with the sleeves rolled up to the elbows. What a specimen.

Her mobile rang and she dragged her gaze away. She recognised the number and after a few eye rolls, she had to answer it. She plastered a smile to her face and clicked the button to connect to her boss, Bradley King.

‘Hello Brad. This is a surprise.’

‘Hell, Emily, what have you been doing? I haven’t heard from you in two weeks.’

She lifted a hand to adjust her shoulder length blonde ponytail. ‘You know I had to set up the business and blend in with the community.’

‘Have you been out to the property?’

‘Not yet. Do we know who owns it?’

‘It’s registered under the business name of Cumberland Enterprises. That’s all we have. The name goes back a few generations.’

‘What am I supposed to do? Arrive on their doorstep and ask to see the owner.’ Emily stretched her neck and rotated it from side to side. Something in there
pinged. ‘Ouch.’

‘What are you doing?’

‘Nothing.’

‘I’ll try to dig deeper. We need that signature.’

‘Is there a reason for the rush on this one?’

‘The place is full of copper, silver, zinc, and lead. We can’t lose it.’

‘It’s taken a while for the locals to warm to me. No one here seems to know much. They don’t discuss business with strangers. The old small town gossip mills don’t run here.’

‘One look at that angel face of yours and they’d believe every word you say.’

This image will give you an idea of how dry the area is between Red Rock and Cumberland Station. There's a reason I have used Red Rock in this novel, as if you've read my past novels, you will recognise the name. Stay tuned for more details. :)

Suzanne Brandyn's new book, Outback Proposal, is an excellent read. I love Suzanne Brandyn's writing style, which always engages me with her characters and story, and Outback Proposal did not disappoint. I engaged with the story and the characters on the first page, and lucky for me, it was the weekend because I forgot about sleep last night. I love Suzanne Brandyn's portrayal of the characters of Outback Proposal and how they intertwine. Outback Proposal was well-written and researched. I like Suzanne Brandyn's description of the settings of Outback Proposal, which allowed me to imagine being part of the book's plot. Readers of Outback Proposal will learn about the consequences of a marriage breakdown on a family. The narrative also highlights the community's pivotal role in requesting a national heritage listing. I recommend this compelling book to readers of Australian Romantic Suspense.
