National Novel Writing Month November 2009/Comments

I love that quote. 'To achieve great things, two things are needed. A plan, and not quite enough time. '

National Novel Writing Month is a fun, seat-of-your-pants approach to novel writing. Participants begin writing November 1. The goal is to write a 175-page (50,000-word) novel by midnight, November 30.:

Woo Hoo! Don't you just love challenges.

I like this Paragraph.

Make no mistake: You will be writing a lot of crap. And that's a good thing. By forcing yourself to write so intensely, you are giving yourself permission to make mistakes. To forgo the endless tweaking and editing and just create. To build without tearing down. lol lol  http://www.nanowrimo.org/

Contemporary Romance
Well I've got my characters sorted out, my plot and subplots, making it character driven and even a working title. Lets hope it runs as smooth as possible.

I'm signed up with National Novel Writing Month (like I do each year). Do you sign up with them?  How do you tackle the NaNo? Do you need that push push/that cheering on from other writers or do you just charge ahead and do it?

I'll be lost in NaNo Land for the following month. So just in case I haven't emailed or posted on your blog I'm not ignoring you. I'll be busy typing away trying to avoid the many distractions. If time permits I'll get a word counter to put on my blog, and then if times still permits I'll update as much as possible. lol... Ah sweet precious time. I sometimes wished days were longer and nights shorter. :)

Good Luck to all the participants.   :)

Take A Walk With Me. :)

I thought I'd share some scenes with you. Scenes of what I pass by on my daily walks.  I change my walking path quite often. Port Macquarie, Rainbow Beach, North Haven or wherever suits my mood on that day.

This is a little track that winds past the beach. The canopy of trees provides such cooling shade in the hotter months of the year.

Rainbow Beach

Rainbow Beach

North Haven River

North Haven River I love the mountain in the background. It's called North Brother Mountain.

Okay, now that we have relaxed for a while, over the next few days I'm getting stuck into the why of my next novel. The WHY? does this happen? Why does the heroine act that way, and why does the hero cast his damn bl... sexy, soul destroying eyes upon her?
That's it for me now...Perhaps you have something to add. Feel Welcome. There's a lot going on around now. The RWA blogspot, the posts of different authors and aspiring writers. All the excitement and the frustration of getting it together for the NaNoWriMo next month.
As the old saying goes, keep on keeping on.
Shall do. I don't have any choice. :) Do you?
Happy writing, and reading everyone.

Romance Writers of Australia Conference 1997/Signature Bear /Opps now there are 28

Do you recognise this signature bear?

He's been sitting on my desk since the day I won him in 1997, in Sydney. Although I left RWA for quite a few years he's always remained in my office. He has 27 signatures.

But my problem is I only recognise some of the names. (not because they are blurry, because I can't understand the signature) :) If anyone can help I'd be most thankful. :) Perhaps someone that has signed the bear will know of the other names, and even if you haven't perhaps you may know if you attended the conference in 1997. I've put a question mark next to the names I can't read correctly.

Thanks everyone. :)

The other is just, Siane. Written very clearly.
