Australian verses American English

I've been having fun finding out the difference between Aussie terms and sayings, compared to the US. Can you add to my list?

Boot -Trunk
Bench space - Counter space

Lounge room - Living room
Ute - Pick up

Sealed - Paved
Trolley - Cart

Mobile - Cell (we all know this one) :)
I'm sure there are lots more. If I think of any I'll add to this list.

Adding to the list:

Gas-Fuel-Petrol

In knitting, US is bind off, and Au Cast off.
Footpath sidewalk

Tourist bus, trolley.

Barbeque- Bar B- Grill

Cot-crib-Bassinet

I've been wracking my brains all day, Suz, and for the life of me I can't think of any more!

Have a Happy Easter. :)

Hi Sandy,
Thank you for trying. On face book we have been having a great discussion, and have found a few more. :)

They use imperial measurement, we use metric. That's the best I can come up with! :)

Thanks Sandy,
I think we have covered a lot of words that are used regularly that some people don't understand. lol.

Aussie slang is another subject. I think google would be loaded with answers. :)
