Hunter Romance Writers 19th Jan

I met up with the Hunter Romance Writers on Saturday and once again a great meeting. It was nice to see everyone again, and giggle, laugh, discuss, share and discuss all things writing.

We had to bring our homework, and discuss the year ahead of us, 2013. A sincere thank you to Suzanne Hamilton and Sandie Hudson for all the organising, and for not putting me in the naughty corner for talking too much. lol :)

From left to right: Deborah Challinor, Stacey Nash, Erin O'Hara, Sandie Hudson, Suzanne Hamilton, Kerri Patterson, Linda Hills, Tea Cooper, Simone Cooper plus there were a few missing.

We read aloud our completed action goal list covering the weeks up to the 16th Feb. We also went over a completed business plan for 2013 that we had to fill in prior to the meeting along with other documentation.

Then we went on to discuss:

· Airing of our individual goals for 2013 and goals for the coming month

· Discussing and tabling of workshop discussions for our meetings

· Brief discussion on any proposed excursions, writers retreat, workshops we wish to attend as a group

As most of the morning was taken up with everyone stating their goals, and business plans for the year, plus discussions on covers, submissions, and so much more the morning was full, and by lunch time my head was buzzing with so much I have to undertake and learn. Yes, you heard it, learn. There is so much to the publishing industry it's learning something new everyday. I loved it. :)

So basically the morning was taken up by setting out 2013 and what we as writers hope to achieve, and our action plan list to make that happen. I have so much paper work. Yikes.

Readers Cafe was closed so we had lunch at the local pub. We found a table that could seat all of us, and we were alone outside thank heavens, as you can imagine the chatter and the topics of our conversation. lol.. Not for all ears.

A thoroughly enjoyable, great day with so much to do now I am home, I may be quiet for a while. So happy reading and writing everyone. And don't forget to smile. You know you use more muscle to frown than to smile. :) :)

It appears you had a great day. I love catching up with writers, unfortunately I only get the chance at conferences.

Tarnya. x

I so rarely get a chance to socialize (in the flesh) with other authors.

Glad you had a good time!
