Book Genres

I must confess that lately I've been reading a variety of genres written by authors from all around the world.

I read rural romance, contemporary romance, romantic suspense, suspense/thrillers, and suspense with romantic elements. The list goes on.

I also like to write romantic suspense and suspense with a touch of romance. They say a writer has to read across the board. I certainly do.  I even enjoy a sci fi or a paranormal occasionally. There's nothing like keeping up with what's out there, and knowing what is selling and what isn't.

My tbr pile is so high I'm tripping over my hard copies in my bedroom, and my ipad is filling up so quickly. lol But I love finding a good story. You can check out my Goodreads profile where I have given five stars to the novels that I thoroughly enjoyed. There are some terrific authors out there and it's a tough industry.

I would also like to say a heartfelt thank you to readers of Heat in the Outback. I think you will enjoy my next novel due out in Mid April to May. A suspense with romantic elements, but always set in the Outback or rural Australia.

What genres do you read? Do you chop and change or stick to the same genre?

I absolutely read across the board--except for horror.

I have enough nightmares. LOL!

lol Me too Maria. I also don't read horror. Nice to find out you read a variety. So there's nothing wrong with me afterall. lol..

But I do sway toward Rural romance, and and romantic suspense, or romance with a touch of romance. I still need that hero figure in a novel and I can wait if he doesn't appear until a few pages into the novel. :)
