Hunter Romance Writers

Another great meeting yesterday in Newcastle. Talk about full on. I didn't get to wear the naughty hat this time, but someone did. .. isn't she cute. lol
We discussed many things, from entering contests, agents, publishers, our current wips, setting our following goals for the month, our recent reads, and a writing exercise which was a grammar test, and vocabulary test. It was fun. Open discussion on who needs help, brainstorming,  critiquing, and organising for a Detective to speak at one of our meetings.

We spoke about collaging and when to bring our cardboard etc I haven't done collaging for a while, so it will be good to have a change. We chatted, laughed, and dined. Lovely lunch btw. :) I'm rejuvenated and ready to start my goals for the month.
  • Plot my next novel
  • Organise my costume for the fancy dress cocktail party for the conference
  •  Draft the first few chapters of my next wip
  •  Fill in Character sheets,
  • Undertake a synopsis
  • Work on pitch lines for a few novels
  • Pictures for Collage
Not necessarily in that order though. lol...

That's it for me. Hubby and I are taking off for over a week again next week. Heading down to the cold country around Victoria, and south western NSW. Yikes. Thank heavens I have plenty of warm clothes. :) Also later on we are going west from here to the property. I need to do some more research. :) I love it.

Oh and my edits should arrive soon for Eyes of A Stranger. Woo Hoo.... release date 8th May. :)

Busy once again, so I should go and get organised.

Keep well and smile. :)

Good heavens, Suzanne, you've got your work cut out for you! Have fun on your trip. :)

Great Scott! It's almost conference time again, isn't it. Oh dear, can't see me fitting into what I'd planned. Ah well...

Hi Suz,
I'll try and get some pics. I need some for my collage as well. :)

Thank you for stopping in. :)

Hi Sandy,
Yes, it's a tad bit full on, but I love full on. :)
I haven't forgotten either. I'll try and get some done this coming week before I go away. :)
Yes, conference is almost here, well almost lol... I've got to get that costume organised.
Thanks for popping in. :)

No rush, Suzanne, don't want to add to your to-do list. Whenever you have time is great. I'm going to try and enter it into the Valerie Parv which opens tomorrow. They're capping it at 80 entries.

Hi Sandy,
Sent you what I had done. Good luck with the VP, it's a great competition.

Hi Suzanne
It looks like you are on a roll. Keep it up. I recall reading you almost got with a top traditional publisher in Oz. What now? Excuse me, but if it's that good I want to get my hands on it.

Shirley.

Me too Suzanne. It's suspense isn't it, with a bit of thriller, and romantic bits. I would love to read it.

Tarnya. x

Good luck with it all, Suz, and have a fun trip.

BTW - can't wait to see your fancy dress!

Hi Shirley,
You have a good memory. That story is looking for a home. When one editor likes a manuscript, it doesn't necessarily mean others will. I'm sure it will find a home. :) I'll keep you updated.

Hi Tarnya,
I would love for the world to read it. :)
