The Last of the Puppet Maker's

I have been meaning to post these pictures up of the puppet shop in The Rocks in Sydney I visited a few weeks back. I've been engrossed in writing I almost forgot. Yesterday I did 4.000, well 4.100 words, today, it is 2.900 words, and I'm bushed. lol..

I've always been intrigued by puppets. I still am today. :)

Walking in was like walking back in time. The air was musty and damp. The sandstone blocks that formed the building were over a hundred years old.

After climbing down some hairy, steep steps into the basement, I was so intrigued. I was in another world. What a delight...It was packed with puppets, and they were all for sale. Three rooms full of puppets. How cool is that?

After thirty years of making and selling puppets the elderly husband and wife team, who put so much intricate detail into their puppets, are closing the store in a few weeks time. It is so sad to know it won't be there any more. Boo Hoo!

Hi Danielle,
It's a fading art. I adore puppets. Don't ask why, I don't know. But this little shoppee lit up my heart. It was so cute. And yes, hidden away.

Thanks for calling in. :)

What great puppet photos!

And wow -- you've been busy with writing as well, great going on the word count, Suzanne!

Hi Kaye,
They are lovely aren't they. Yes, I hope it continues. 2.000 a day or more. :)

I am in awe of your word count! As for the puppets, those are amazing, and now I'm sad that their store is closing. I hope all the puppets find nice homes.

Hi Caryn,
Yes I also hope they find nice homes. They are so adorable. My word count is going fine, but today I doubt it as I have to go out. Perhaps later on I can squeeze a few thou in. lol..
Thanks for stopping by. :)
