I've found my voice. lol

After some feedback from critique partners etc, I think I've found where my voice fits in the many genres of romance. Heat in the Outback, had good reviews mentioning the suspense right from the start. I looked over a current wip and it has a lot more suspense, but always with an intertwining romance story.

I am finding the thrilling suspense with romance or romantic elements such a delight to write. Although at present I'm not about to murder someone in my stories, but my protagonist is put in a life threatening situation, with a really harsh antagonist.  I started out writing straight romance, and will continue to do so, but I will also write the thrilling suspense with romance/love/or attraction. They say we have to begin somewhere, and I began with straight romance.

I'm wondering how many people write one type of genre of romance, only to find they write another genre much better. I have also read, some writers write two or three different genres.

Okay the weekend is almost here again,

Have a good one, and smile, :) :)

I love romantic suspense. It's one of my favorite things to read, and rather fun to write.

That's excellent news, Suz.

As writers we all have our own way, it's just that sometimes it takes a while to find it. It did for me, that's for sure!

So glad you've found yours.

Hello Suzanne,
I read Heat in the Outback, and it had suspense, so I gather you are speaking about more type thriller, on the edge of seat drama.

Obtw, loved Heat in the Outback.

Suz, you know Bronwyn Parry jokes about her genre being "mystery suspense with kissy bits"!!!!! I reckon that says it all. As for me, harldy a kissy bit to be found but it took me a while to realise my genre.

lol kissy bits. Yeah, sort of, so perhaps, it is Suspense, with just a tad more than kissy bits. lol...

I'll find a good tag sooner or later.

Suz :) Thanks for stopping by Jenn.

That's fantastic Suz, and I completely agree that it can take a while to find which sub-genre of romance is a true fit - I tried all sorts before I finally discovered erotic ancient historical romance :-)

It's good to hear how others came to write what they do. I'm charging along with a rewrite, and hopefully next week I will get a lot done. :)
Thanks for stopping by Christina.
