I'm Back, I'm back. lol

Urgh! Can you imagine the washing, the piles mounted in the laundry today, and the ironing. I need a holiday to get over my holiday. Although nice, I think NSW and it's beaches and rainforest's are so much nicer than QLD. Stinger season, well the end of stinger season had us swimming in nets, and pools. But the water, a murky colour wasn't what we expected. Do what the locals do. lol We still swam in areas outside the nets.
Cairns is situated on Mud flats. There are no surfing waves, or beautiful white, sandy beaches. In place, mud and dirty sand. I didn't expect much, but to see this it was quite disheartening.  NSW wins above all. We have white fluffy sand, blue clear water and waves, gentle at times and then angry at other times. Although we have the occasional Shark, and we don't see many, Cairns have box jelly fish that are deadly. There are supposed to be crocodiles in the water, and there are many signs around warning of the danger. But I don't think too many large croc's dwell near the edge of a tourist town. I didn't see any, and people were swimming in the water.
Green Island wasn't much of an island. Shallow snorkeling areas, in which we had a try but it wasn't like the island of Fiji, or even a match for our clear, blue water.
Don't get me wrong, we had a good time, but home is so, so nice. :)

This is the view from our balcony at Trinity Beach. The apartment was great, it was as though we could have been on any island in the world. (except for the water)

Early Morning sunrise over Trinity.

Our feet. lol on the Catamaran back from Green Island. I took lots of pictures of feet. lol

The water of Cairns is murky and the bottom muddy.
One thing though, the council has a tremendous area for young children to play. The play areas are astounding compared to NSW or anywhere in Oz I have been.
Cairns is a tidy place. I didn't see graffiti or even rubbish anywhere.

Ending off as I said, I need a holiday to get over the sky rail, the river cruses, the trip to Green Island where we snorkeled and snorkeled through shallow and not that clear water,  the sunset cruise, the stay north of Cairns at Trinity beach, Daintree rainforest, restaurants and basically exploring, left us somewhat exhausted. lol...I'm full of prawns and oysters, beautiful fish, snapper. You know we can't buy fresh snapper here where I live. It is strange, but we don't have a fishing port. In fact, we can't buy fresh fish here. It's so weird, a seaside town and no fresh fish. Oh well, I guess I can survive. We do have lovely cocktails though and that's what counts doesn't it. :)

Now to get organised. Meeting tomorrow with writers. Interviews to undertake. Promo for Heat in the Outback, and so much more there isn't enough hours in the day.

Thank you for stopping by. Call back soon for my release. It should be good fun. I'm planning something so different when the print version is out. I can't say much now, but be on the lookout.
I hope you all are well and happy.
Suzanne :)

Welcome back! I hear you about the laundry. We were away for 5 weeks and the pile was large.

I love Cairns. Despite all the dangerous creatures around, there are lots of fun things to do.
